About
I’m a psychoanalyst licensed by the State of New York. I practice open-ended, non-medical talk therapy. My approach is grounded in modern psychoanalysis, a set of tools developed here in New York City to relieve emotional pain, release creative blocks, and help you grow into the person you want to be.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, once a week. A course of treatment can be as short as a few months, as long as a lifetime, or anywhere in between. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, respected, and free to live the life you want.
My full fee is $200 per session. Because it’s important that psychotherapy be available to everyone, I offer a sliding scale, according to financial need. If you need to talk to someone, but you’re not sure you can afford it, ask. Sessions are conducted in person, at my office downtown. It’s a nice, relaxing place, and it’s easy to get to.
You can book a free 30-minute Zoom consultation, so you can get a sense of whether you’d like to meet.
I've worked successfully with:
anger
anxiety
career shifts
creative blocks
depression
family dynamics
grief and mourning
low self-esteem
midlife crisis
physical, emotional, and sexual trauma
post-traumatic stress
questions of gender and sexual identity
relationship issues

…and more
I do not discriminate as to race, religion, age, gender, sexual preference, nationality, or political affiliation. All are welcome here.

About me
Before I became a therapist, I had a career in technology. I didn't expect to, it just kind of happened. Over time, I became aware that, despite the frenetic pace of technological change, the technology's users are the same creatures animated by the same minds that they've been for thousands of years. Yet, as I learned through my personal analysis, they remain mysteries to themselves. I chose to train as a therapist in order to spend my second career exploring those mysteries. It's been a journey. I find pleasure, pride, and fulfilment in accompanying you on yours.
